Special Issue Information
Metabolic bone diseases (MBD) are a set of disorders characterized by abnormalities in bone structure and function resulting from aberrant bone metabolism. MBD can develop as a result of hereditary causes, hormone imbalances, dietary inadequacies, or secondary to other diseases. Bone mineralization, remodeling, and strength can all be affected by MBD.
