Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Metabolic bone diseases (MBD) are a set of disorders characterized by abnormalities in bone structure and function resulting from aberrant bone metabolism. MBD can develop as a result of hereditary causes, hormone imbalances, dietary inadequacies, or secondary to other diseases. Bone mineralization, remodeling, and strength can all be affected by MBD. Osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, Paget's disease of bone, and renal osteodystrophy are some examples of MBD. This special issue seeks to publish original papers, meta-analyses, and critical reviews on all types of MBD, including both basic and clinical research. The topics given below are of special interest although manuscripts that go beyond these topics will also be considered.
1. Role of hormones and minerals
2. Bone remodeling and homeostasis
3. Genetic and molecular factors
4. Inflammatory and immune factors
5. Nutritional deficiencies and bone health
6. Microarchitecture and bone quality
7. Cellular dysfunction and bone diseases
8. Environmental and lifestyle factors
9. Pharmacological interventions
10. Translational and clinical research
